Sighting 1948 Project Sign begins First USAF UFO investigation. Internal "Estimate of the Situation" memo speculated extraterrestrial origin; rejected by command, document destroyed; PURSUE Release 02 expected to include reconstructed version.
Program 1952 Project Blue Book begins USAF formal investigation of UFO reports, 12,618 cases over 17 years. 701 unexplained. Closed in 1969 following the Condon Report.
Program 1969 Condon Report & Blue Book closes University of Colorado study concludes UFO study has yielded "nothing of scientific value." Blue Book formally terminated December 17, 1969.
Closure 2004 USS Nimitz / Tic Tac Encounter Multi-sensor incident off the coast of San Diego. Naval pilots tracked an oblong object exhibiting unusual kinematics. Footage leaked 2017, fully declassified in PURSUE 2026.
Incident 2014–15 Roosevelt CSG encounters Daily encounters off the East Coast across an eight-month deployment. SPY-1 radar tracks released in PURSUE include previously-omitted gain settings.
Incident 2017 NYT publishes AATIP, FLIR videos leak Existence of the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program made public. FLIR-1, GIMBAL, GOFAST videos enter circulation — without their configuration data.
